Information
These works hover between painting and sculpture – flatness, colour and surface treatment are combined with physical bulk, incised lines and supporting structures. Optical tensions created by juxtaposing the square and the parallelogram, vertical and off-vertical elements. A compound of acrylic binder, marble powder and pigment is applied to the plywood structure, then sanded down, allowing for variations in tone and colour.
