Kaori Dan graduated from Chelsea's MA in 2007. These works use collage in the way that other artists might use paint or charcoal. There is a system behind the collation of the materials (cutouts of kitchen fittings create one section of the image, for example) but the resulting work has a flowing organic sensitivity more usually associated with an artist’s hand building sweeping gestures with a brush.
