Artist / Karen Knorr
Information
Karen Knorr is a senior artist whose work positions itself in relation to debates around post colonialism, feminism, and visual culture. These works are from two recent series – one set inside the Chantilly Castle and the other in the environs of the Chateau de Chambord. They explore three recurring themes: 1) the fables of Aesop and La Fontaine 2) Surrealism, montage and a dialogue with the uncanny 3) Nature encroaching into the aristocratic household – the hunted hunting the hunter.
