Artist / Katie Paterson
Information
(nominated by Simon Faithfull) One of the stars of last year’s MA shows and a post-graduate from the Slade where she worked with Simon Faithfull – both artists have an interest in transmission as a means of making work. These works used morse code and satellite technology to transmit Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata to the surface of the moon where it is scrambled in response to the moon’s surface and reflected back to earth ready for playing on a grand piano. Solo show at Modern Art Oxford, April 2008.
