Artist / Roy Voss
Information
Roy Voss takes images of idyllic landscapes (in this case in Iceland, Scotland and the edge of the Alps) into which he introduces texts that encourage a reviewing of the work. He first finds the landscape and then decides on the appropriate word, builds the structure of the word, and photographs it in situ. In diptychs the words are repeated proposing double meanings and giving ambiguity to the scene and in this way he encourages us to think in unconventional ways about traditional subject matter. Solo show at Matt’s Gallery forthcoming.
